Thank you for stopping by.
It would be wonderful to sit and visit with you for a while instead of having to introduce myself in this formal way. So maybe we can just pretend we are at your favorite coffee spot just getting to know each other.
I’m a wife, mother, and homemaker – primarily. My husband and I have been married almost 15 years. We live in Northwest Iowa and we have two young kids in elementary school. My kids are energetic, fun, intelligent, independent, and sweet. They keep me on my toes and fill my life with joy. Most of my time is spent making supper, doing laundry, helping with homework, running errands, buying groceries – all those things that go into running a home.
My desire in life is to do things well… follow hard after God and His plan for me, lift my husband up and encourage him in all he does, love my kids completely and humbly. I don’t live up to these desires every day, but with God’s help I’m closer today than ever.
In my spare time I’ve started writing and speaking – sharing my passion for the word of God. Slowly, but surely, I’m beginning to add the titles of blogger, speaker, and author to my titles of wife, mother, and homemaker. I blog mainly about the things God’s been teaching me and the hope that is found in His word.
In addition to the blogs, I’ve also enjoyed creating printables (Scripture art) involving the verses that God is talking to me about. These printables are free for personal use and I am working on a way to make some of them available for purchase in a variety of sizes.
Recently I’ve been encountering the word of God in a whole new way through meditation. Meditation on God’s word is not some mystical, new age approach to God, but rather a way of filling up your whole being with God and His word. It involves treating God’s word like a personal love letter straight from His heart instead of an old dusty textbook. Meditation has brought new life and breath into my relationship with God.
Where are you in your walk with God? Brand new? In a dry spell? Going through the motions? Excited and energized? Filled and overflowing? We all go through seasons in our walk with God.
I would be honored if you would journey with me. As we walk, side by side, we can encourage each other to move into a deeper encounter with God though the wisdom and revelation of His word. As God’s word is opened up to us, God’s heart is revealed enabling us to move forward in hope.
Hope… that word resonates within the very core of my being. You will find it weaved through much of this site. Hope is not some sort of wishful thought, but instead it is a confident expectation that God will fulfill His promises to us.
Let’s mine out those promises and place our hope in the one, true, living God together. May God continually bless you as you journey deeper into Him!
